Alberta P. (Parisi) McMahon, 101, of Lynnfield, entered into eternal rest on December 29, 2025 with family by her side. Born on February 1, 1924 in Chelsea, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Josephine (Ferullo) Parisi.
Alberta was raised in Revere, and graduated in 1941 from Immaculate Conception High School. She spent all 12 years with the Sisters of St. Joseph. After high school, and during World War II, she was employed in the office of Hunnewell Trucking Company, Charlestown.
Alberta shared 67 years of marriage with Martin F. McMahon, Jr. until his passing in 2016. Alberta and Martin moved to Lynnfield in 1955 to raise their family. Alberta was a longstanding and active parishioner of St. Maria Goretti Church in Lynnfield where she was employed and a Eucharistic Minister.
Alberta was involved in the community working as the secretary to the principal of Center School until its closing and moving on to the Administration Office of the Public Schools. After retiring, she worked at Town Hall and as a poll worker. Aberta was a founding board member of the Lynnfield Senior Center with the Council of Aging and a board member of GLSS of Lynn. She was a member of the Lynnfield Tree Committee.
Alberta liked to stay active exercising to Jack LaLane on TV when her children were young and also took yoga classes. She participated in aerobics well into her 90's. She even taught her grandchildren the Macarena. She was a wonderful cook, especially her spaghetti sauce, eggplant parmigiana, and pot roast.
Alberta loved to dance regaling her family with stories of fun times during and after the war at the Ocean View Ballroom on Revere Beach. Though, her favorite dance partner was her beloved husband who she referred to as her boyfriend up until the end. They made for an unforgettable pair on the dance floor.
Alberta was an avid Red Sox and Bruins fan attending many games with her father and children. She got her love of baseball from her father. In her later years, she watched all of the games on TV giving a 'Woo-Hoo' so we knew there had been a goal or homerun. She received a congratulatory letter on her 100th birthday from the Red Sox and a special email from one of her favorite Bruins' alums.
Alberta is survived by her children, Martin McMahon, III (Susan McKee) of Worcester, VT, Lorraine Bartlett (David) of Swampscott, Dorothy McMahon of Lynnfield, Judith McMahon of Ipswich, and Stephen McMahon of Chicago, IL.
She was the sister of the late Eileen McMahon (Robert) of Lynnfield and the late Joseph A. Parisi, Jr. (Jane) of Apple Valley, CA.
Alberta was the proud grandmother of Erica Giovannucci (Brian) of Wenham, Leah Bartlett (Eric Kane) and Tara Bartlett both of Swampscott, Brent and Justin McMahon of Chicago, IL, the late Gregory Watts and Brian Watts of Ipswich, Yolanda McMahon of Brighton, Martin McMahon, IV of South Bend, IN and Cora McMahon, of Waterbury Center, VT.
She was the great-grandmother of Tyler and Lilly Giovannucci of Wenham, Walter Petit, June and Sunny Kane all of Swampscott.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory cousins, many nieces and nephews and friends.
We were blessed to have had you for so long and are grateful. Mom, enjoy dancing in Heaven!
