Born in Stoneham on March 9, 1939, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (MacLean) Fraser.

Al was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1958, where he met the love of his life, Carol. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

After returning home from his military service, Al graduated from East Coast Aero Tech and began a lifelong career in aviation. He first worked at Butler Aviation, before moving to Northeast Aviation. He later joined Delta Air Lines, where he worked for more than 26 years. He took great pride in his work and carried a lifelong passion for aviation.

Affectionately known as “Big Al”, and to his wife and close family as “Sandy”, Al enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, and vacationing with family and friends. He also had a deep appreciation for cars and airplanes and especially enjoyed sharing those interests with the people he loved.

Al was the beloved husband of the late Carol A. (Sawin) Fraser. He was the devoted father of David Fraser and his wife, Kathy, of Castle Pines, Colorado; Stephen Fraser and his wife, Joanne, of Chelmsford, Massachusetts; Thomas Fraser and his wife, Jaime, of Burlington, Massachusetts; Sandra Johnson and her husband, John, of Campton, New Hampshire; and Cheryl Walker of Billerica, Massachusetts.

He was the brother of the late Joseph Fraser, Anne Ambrose, Jean Fraser, Elizabeth Foskitt, Hugh Fraser, and John Fraser. He is also survived by his eleven grandchildren, Bob, Tim, Douglas, Eric, Ryan, Scott, Natalie, Derrick, Ethan, Jacob, and Meredith, and his great-grandson, Warren.
