Anita Gravelese

Anita M . Gravelese , 88, of Pelham, NH, formerly of Wakefield, died in her sleep on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Masconomet Health Care Facility.

Born in Digby County, Nova Scotia, Canada on September 11, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Catherine (Doucette) Porter.

A lifelong resident of Wakefield, Mrs. Gravelese attended Wakefield Schools and was a member of St. Joseph parish. Before her retirement, she worked for the former Freeman's Cleaners now known as Anton's Cleaners and also worked for the former Coed Shoe Company, all located in Wakefield.

Mrs. Gravelese was the wife of the late Ralph S. Gravelese . She is survived by two sons, Alan J. Gravelese and his wife Midge of Beverly and Michael R. Gravelese of Pelham, NH, and her brother, Joseph Porter and sister, Blanche Sarno, both of Wakefield. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Gordon, Timothy and Michael Gravelese . Mrs. Gravelese was predeceased by her brother, Harold Porter and her sister, Mildred Charest.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 9:00 A. M . followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, Wakefield at 10:00 o'clock. Relatives and friend may call at the funeral home on Friday from 3 to 7 P.M. Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery in Stoneham.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
