Betty Diane Childs

Betty Diane Childs, 86, of Melrose formerly of Stoneham, died on Monday, July 28th at the Bear Nursing Center in Wakefield.

Born in Melrose on October 3, 1938, she was the daughter of the late John and Inez (Jones) French.

Ms. Childs was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1956. She was a retired Bank Teller at Stoneham Cooperative Bank in Stoneham. In addition to working several jobs, she loved to watch her sons play sports growing up and was a Red Sox fan until the very end.

Ms. Childs is survived by her two sons; William Childs of Topsfield and Richard Childs and his wife Tracey of Medway, her grandchildren; Riley, Isabella, Matthew, and Avery and siblings, Alice Dumont, Jack French and Alan French.

Funeral Services will be private.

Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home in Stoneham.
