Beverly E. Barter

Beverly (Wells) Barter, age 98 of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Revere on February 21, 1927, to the late George Wells and Alma (Campbell) Wells Delaney.

She graduated from Malden High School and The School of Practical Art in Boston. She spent most of her working life at Analog Devices.

Spending time with family and friends brought her the most joy. She took great pride in caring for her cherished home of 60 years. Beverly loved walking Lake Quannapowitt with her sister, well into her 90s. She loved the mountains and serenity of Wolfeboro, NH and having grown up in Revere, she loved the ocean and cherished many family trips to Hilton Head, South Carolina. She was an avid reader and a talented artist. Beverly’s smile, infectious laugh, her kindness and the ability to talk to anyone she came across are the memories her family will hold dear.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter Barter. She was the loving mother of Lauren Kilpatrick, and her husband John, of Wakefield and her late son Wayne Barter. She is also survived by the lights of her life, her adoring grandchildren Kristen Kilpatrick of Wakefield, Stacey Leissing and her husband Mark of Billerica, and Justin Kipatrick of Wakefield, along with her precious great-grandsons Liam and Max Leissing. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings George Wells, Kingsley Wells and Nancy Lovell and their spouses as well as numerous friends.

Beverly’s services will be private and she will be buried alongside her husband at Lakeside Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Beverly’s honor.
