Beverly J. Oliphant, age 88, of Wakefield passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on May 28, 2026.

She was born in Quincy on March 28, 1938 and was a longtime Wakefield resident and longtime member of the First Parish Congregational Church of Wakefield, where she was part of the Rosewood Circle. Beverly also attended services at Calvary Christian Church of Lynnfield and Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church of Wakefield. She was very creative and loved arts and crafts, especially macramé. She also was a lover of dance, music and theater. Even helping to put together performances for the First Parish Congregational Church. Beverly loved the water and was an avid swimmer.

After a successful career in technical writing, Beverly enjoyed retirement winters in Naples, Florida, where she lightly entertained golfing to keep her husband company. Beverly’s greatest joy was to be a mother, and was devoted to her son, teaching him to swim, as well as attending all of his music concerts and sporting events when he was younger. Dirven in nature, Beverly will be remembered for her independent spirit.

She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Oliphant. She was the loving mother of Alan J. Oliphant of Danvers, formerly of Wakefield. She was the sister of the late Donald Atkins. She was the niece of the late Eleanor Pope and her husband Robert Pope Sr. and the cousin of the late Robert Pope Jr. She was also the sister-in-law of the late Marjorie Phillips.

Her Funeral Service will be held in the Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove St., Lynnfield on Thursday, June 4 at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, June 3 from 4-7pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly’s name may be made to Calvary Christian Church, 47 Grove St., Lynnfield, MA 01940.
