Carol Almeida

Carol A. Almeida, 60, of Wakefield died unexpectedly on Sunday February 8 at the Winchester Hospital.

Born in Somerville on April 1, 1948 she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Susan (DiNitto) Caggiano.

Carol will be most remembered for her creativity. She worked as a florist for many years and had once owned her own shop called Flower Time Originals. Her specialty was her distinctive arrangements made with silk flowers. In addition to floral arranging, Carol was a talented decorator who took great pride in her home. She enjoyed the time spent with family and friends, and especially loved her many grandchildren. Her loss is felt by many and she will truly be missed.

Carol was the wife of James Almeida, her husband of 42 years. She was the mother of Karen Troiano and John Almeida of Wakefield, Kerry Gonnella and husband Peter of Harwich, and the late Krissie Ebert. In addition, Carol leaves behind ten grandchildren and a soon to be expected great granddaughter. Carol also leaves behind a sister Kathie Pawlak of Winchester, brother Bill Caggiano of Lynnfield, and brother Benjamin Caggiano of Stoneham.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10:00 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 P.M. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
