Claudia Mary Davis

Claudia Mary Davis (Frampton) passed away peacefully at her home in Lynnfield on March 28, 2026. She was 79 years old. Born on January 9, 1947, Claudia was the eldest of five daughters in the loving family of Mary and Graham Frampton. Originally from Malden, she grew up in Wakefield and graduated from Wakefield High School. She went on to graduate from Boston State College and later earned her master’s degree from Cambridge College.

A dedicated educator, Claudia retired in 2010 after a long and rewarding career, including more than 20 years teaching sixth grade in Wakefield. She also taught in Lynnfield, Peabody, Northfield, VT, and Augsburg, Germany. She took great pride in her students and was often touched when former students, then working as cashiers at The Farmland, would recognize her and say, “Are you Ms. Davis? You were my favorite teacher!”

Claudia was the beloved wife of Richard Davis of Lynnfield. Their life together began with a unique family connection: Richard’s cousin, Carl Davis, was engaged to Claudia’s sister, Joy. The two couples were married in a double wedding in 1968, beginning Claudia and Richard’s devoted journey together that would span 58 years. In their early years, Claudia lived in Vermont with Richard during his senior year at Norwich University and spent three years in Germany during his military service before settling in Lynnfield to raise their family. She leaves behind many wonderful memories of summers at Newfound Lake, NH, and family vacations to national parks, the Caribbean, and Europe. Above all, Claudia treasured the time she spent with her cherished grandchildren.

Claudia was a member of Saint Maria Goretti Church and also attended Lynnfield and Bristol, NH, Congregational Churches with Richard.

Claudia is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her daughter, Sharon Davis; and her daughter Jennifer Carney and her husband, Thomas, all of Lynnfield. She was the beloved grandmother of Chase Carney, Drew Carney, Brooke Fenderson, and Taylor Carney, all of Lynnfield. She was the dear sister of Joy Davis and her husband, Carl, of FL; Gwen Blois and her husband, Paul, of Danvers; and Pamela Frampton and Gayle Frampton, both of Wakefield. She was also the sister-in-law of Robert and Nancy Davis of N. Easton, and Barbara and Wendell McIntire of Bristol, NH. She also leaves behind her former son-in-law, Daniel Fenderson, with whom she shared a warm and lasting friendship, as well as many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Claudia will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her family, and the lasting impact she had on generations of students. To honor Claudia’s wishes, her family will gather for a small, private remembrance to celebrate her life and the love she shared. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial contributions in memory of Claudia to Friends of the Lynnfield Senior Center, 525 Salem Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940.
