Corey L. Fanjoy, Sr.

Corey L. Fanjoy Sr., a lifelong resident of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on Tuesday, June 2. Born in Melrose, April 1, 1969, he was the son of Jane M. (DiPaolo) Fanjoy and the late Neil Fanjoy Sr., he carried their love throughout his life. Corey was the loving father of Corey Fanjoy Jr. (CJ) of Wakefield.

Corey was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1987. He was a retired custodian for Saugus Public Schools. Corey enjoyed long weekends on his Harley. He loved going on annual hunting trips to Barre, MA with his family and friends, where he was always remembered as the life of the party at hunting camp. He could always make you smile. In his younger years Corey avidly trained in boxing, a passion that was reignited later in his life. He was known for his fun-loving nature, and wonderful sense of humor, he brought laughter, happiness, and light wherever he went. Corey will be greatly missed by all the friends and family he touched.

Corey is lovingly remembered by his mother and son, Jane Fanjoy and Corey Fanjoy Jr. He is also survived by his devoted brother, Neil Fanjoy Jr., his wife, Sahamarie, and their sons, Joshua and Nicholas, his wife, Rachel.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday June 7, from 12 to 2 p.m. His funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday June 8, at 11 a.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
