Cynthia A. McManamin (Silva), 77, of Wakefield, MA passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Cynthia was the daughter of the late Theophilus E. and late Anna M. (Strabone) Silva. She was born in Boston and was formerly of the North End and East Boston. She attended Girls Latin School in 1966 and earned her bachelor’s degree in childhood education at Boston State College in 1970. She was married at St. Leonard’s Church in the North End on September 6, 1969, and was the beloved wife of the late Philip M. McManamin for 37 years.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kerry McManamin-Jordan and her husband Christopher Jordan of Methuen, MA, Cheryl McManamin-L’Heureux and her fiancé, James Wisnaskas, Sr. of Braintree, MA, by her grandson, Devin McManamin-L’Heureux of Braintree, MA, by her two sisters Anna Melillo and husband Jerry of Malden, MA and Beverly Federico and husband Benny of Malden, MA and by a nephew, nieces, and friends.
Cynthia was employed for many years as an Office Manager at the Wakefield Family Dental Center as well as at Theriault Chiropractic in Wakefield. She was philanthropic and gave to many animal, religious, and medical charities over the years. She loved the holidays, being home, and spending time with her family and pets. There was always a special place in her heart for her late cats Midnight, Blondie, and Trixie. Cynthia also enjoyed traveling with family and friends, listening to the radio, and doing crosswords. She was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily for herself and loved ones.
Cynthia was a caring, supportive, generous, and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, grandmother, and friend. She was immensely proud of her loving family and leaves behind beautiful memories. Our beloved Cynthia will be dearly missed but will forever remain in the hearts of everyone who was blessed enough to have her in their life. Her legacy of love, resilience, and joy will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.
Visiting hours will be held Friday, December 26, 2025, from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue in Wakefield. A Funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 11:00am at Lazarus Center for Healing Shrine, 47 Butler Avenue, Wakefield, MA.
Interment will follow at the Forest Glade Cemetery, Lowell Street, Wakefield, MA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to an animal charity of your choosing, the American Heart Association, or the American Lung Association.
