Deborah Mary Mullen, age 72, of Amesbury, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Michael J. and Eleanora (D’Onofrio) Sasso.
She was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1971. She then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree from Colby College in New Hampshire. Debbie was an avid reader and gardener, who also loved animals and enjoyed crafting. She was also an extremely talented seamstress, a trade she learned from her grandmother. She was an integral part of running the family business, Cove Marina in Salisbury. Above all, she cherished her family and the role of Nonna to her four grandchildren.
She was the loving mother of Kristen Mullen and her husband Derek Michaud of Amesbury and David Mullen and his wife Adriana of Norwood. She was the cherished sister of Rosanne Theobald and her husband Joseph of North Reading, Joanne Sasso and her partner John Vallario of Wakefield and the late Michele Logan and Michele’s surviving children, Jeffrey and Russell Logan. She was the adoring grandmother of Aidan and Adrian Michaud and Julian and Jack Mullen. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, January 12 from 4-7pm. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield on Tuesday, January 13 at 10:30am.
A private interment for family will take place at a future date at the Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MSPCA or Mass Audubon Joppa Flats Education Center in Newburyport, MA.
