Donald F. Giordano

Donald F. Giordano, of Wakefield and formerly of Malden, passed away December 30 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was 88 years of age. He was born in Medford, MA on April 14, 1937 and was the son of the late Sabato and Archangela (Marotta) Giordano. He was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School where he excelled on the Somerville High School Basketball team. After graduation he served in the United States Navy. He was a 30-year employee of the General Motors Corporation where he worked as a Reliance Engineer. After retirement he enjoyed travel, quality family time and was a volunteer Board member of WAAV (Wakefield Alliance Against Violence).

Mr. Giordano was the beloved husband of Carole (Lanzoni) Giordano. He was the loving father of Donald F. Giordano, Jr. of Stoneham, Robert P. Giordano and wife Mary of Stoneham, Gary T. Giordano of Winthrop and is predeceased by his daughter, Christine M. Giordano. He was the brother of the late Gerard Giordano, Anna Lavoie and Theresa Dick. He was also the proud grandfather of Sheena, Selina, Robert and Katherine and great grandfather to Siena and Naomi.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Saint Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham on Wednesday, January 7 at 10am. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Tuesday, January 6 from 4-7pm.
