Doreen Murphy

Doreen L. Murphy, age 85 of Ashburnham, formerly of Stoneham passed away on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.

She was born in Boston on March 25, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Essie (Hawkes) Boucher.

Doreen graduated from Wakefield High School in 1958. Doreen built a career in banking, rising to head teller before transitioning to ATM servicing. She later retired from Bank of America. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking. Later in life, she developed a passion for playing mahjong and became skilled enough to teach others. She also loved traveling to Florida, where she spent the winter months enjoying the warmth and sunshine. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, Jake and Kayla.

She was the beloved wife of William Murphy. She was the loving mother of Maryellen Perrotta and her husband John of Woburn, and William Murphy Jr. of Reading. She was the cherished grandmother of Jake and Kayla Perrotta. Doreen was also the sister of David Boucher and his wife Linda of Wakefield, the late Richard Boucher, and the late Patricia Beherrell and her late husband Jim.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday September 15 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
