Doris M. Kelley, 82, a life long resident of Wakefield, died Friday, May 22 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Wakefield on February 4, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Peter "Smokey" and Annie F. (DeVeau) Malonson.

Mrs. Kelley was raised and educated in Wakefield. She had worked for many years at Wally's Cleaners in Wakefield.

Mrs. Kelley was the wife of the late John Henry Long. Jr (1964) and the late Edward Kelley (2008). She is survived by her daughter Susan Bettano and her husband John of Wakefield, her four grandchildren; Stephanie, Jennifer, Sarah and Lianne Bettano all of Wakefield, her brother Robert Malonson of Wakefield and her sisters Ruth Wilkinson and Mary Smith both of Wakefield. Mrs. Kelley was predeceased by her two brothers; Everett "Pulley" Malonson and Frank Landry and her three sisters; Ethel Rosati, Claire "Tinnie" Goodwin and Mary Frances "Girlie" Malonson.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Thursday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
