Dorsey A. Holappa

Dorsey A. Holappa, age 84, of Lynnfield, Ma. passed away after a brief hospitalization at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Ma. on June 1st, 2024 with her two daughters, Lynn and Joan, by her side.

Dorsey was a beautiful, vivacious, spirited, and fascinating woman.  She was a bright light in many peoples' lives as she filled her day with a quest for life and adventure.  She was a world traveler with her husband Hal, travelling to over 70 countries.  When asked what country was her favorite, she aptly responded "Well, what are you looking to do?"  She would then recount fondly how each country she visited had some favorite attributes regarding its people, cuisine, and sights to see.

She was also an avid reader.  This year, to date, she already read 60 books.  She readily shared what she was reading and suggested which books you should put on your Must Read List.  She visited the library frequently for her requested books.  She encouraged her daughters and grandsons, Sam and James, to share her affinity for reading.

She loved her daily crossword puzzle, always enjoying a good challenge.  Additionally, she thoroughly enjoyed reading, studying and discussing the Holy Bible.

She was well versed on world happenings and wanted to see a more peaceful world.  She kept abreast of daily news and revelled in discussing how things could be better.

Dorsey loved her family deeply.  She will be sorely missed and never forgotten.  She will always be a bright star shining down and her presence will be heartfelt permanently by those who cherished her.  Dorsey was truly one of a kind.  May she rest in peace.

She is survived by her 3 Children Hal, Lynn, and Joan and their respective spouses, Janice and Ruben. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, sister Elaine and her nephew J.P.  She was predeceased by her parents, Alfred and Bernice Mishkinis, and her husband, Harold S. Holappa.
