Edward Dunn, Jr.

Edward F . Dunn , Jr ., 79, of Stoneham died on Tuesday, January 3 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Stoneham on August 9, 1932 he was the son of the late Edward F . and Marion (Smith) Dunn .

Mr. Dunn was a graduate of Medford High School, Class of 1950. He also attended Fisher Junior College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and also served in the Naval Reserve. Mr. Dunn was a former driver for Heathwood Assisted Living in Brookline.

He was the husband of Lucille M. (DiBlasi) Dunn . He was the father of Patricia Cruickshank of Nashua, NH, and Edward F . Dunn III of Providence, RI. He was the brother of Rita Furgeson of FL, Alice Snipes of GA, and the late Charles Dunn , Marion English, and Gertrude Cormier and the grandfather of Kristen Cortez Dufault, Erik Edward Dunn , and Edward F . Dunn IV. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
