Edward John "Eddie" LaSpina, age 59, of Lynnfield, formerly of Wakefield, died unexpectedly Saturday, July 9, 2022.

He was born in Melrose on September 5, 1962 and was the son of the late John and Theresa (Meuse) LaSpina.

Eddie was born and raised in Wakefield on Pleasant Street. He was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1981 along with his lifelong friends Richard and Karen Doherty and James and Barb McCarthy. Eddie was known by his friends and family as a skilled and passionate (self-taught) drummer, fisherman, and hockey player. He was a dedicated family man and devoted his life to his two daughters, Amanda and Stephanie, and his wife, his forever love, Karen LaSpina. He met Karen in 1988 and fell in love instantly, telling everyone she was his future wife after just three days together. They wed on a beautiful October day in 1990. He took an interest in every activity his daughters had, whether it was horseback riding, sports, or drama competitions he always made sure to be by their side every step of the way throughout their lives. He was always smiling and always present. Eddie was known for his larger than life personality and his ability to light up any room he walked into, radiating happiness in every step he took. He was charismatic, goofy, and overly loving to everyone in his life. Eddie was an avid New England sports fan and a skilled handyman, he really could MacGyver his way out of any situation. He was a simple man, a special man, and an incredibly loved man. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

Eddie is survived by his two daughters, Amanda LaSpina and her partner Derek Costa of Tewksbury and Stephanie LaSpina of Danvers, and his wife, Karen (Healy) LaSpina. He is also survived by his siblings: Terri Panerese and her husband John of Peabody, Michael LaSpina and his partner Gail Smith of Littleton, Steven LaSpina and his wife Betty of Wakefield, John LaSpina and his wife Susan of Derry, NH, Jo-Ann Stevens and her husband Billy of Tewksbury, as well as his brother-in-law John Ruehrwein of Wakefield and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, Eddie was predeceased by his sister, Nanci LaSpina Ruehrwein.

Funeral Services will be private. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
