Eleanor S. Dulay

Eleanor S. Dulay, 77, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at her home on February 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her husband and three children.

Born in the Philippines on August 15, 1948, Eleanor was the daughter of the late Pedro and Maria (Ferrer) Salomon. She was raised and educated in the Philippines, where she earned a degree in business commerce and began a successful career in the banking industry, and later worked at AIG in the United States.

After moving to the United States, Eleanor built a beautiful life centered on family and faith. She devoted herself first and foremost to her role as a wife and mother, later finding her greatest joy as a loving and devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren, whom she adored and was incredibly proud of. Her happiest moments were those spent with her entire family together—whether during summer gatherings in Boston, celebrating Christmas, or cheering on from the sidelines at her grandchildren’s various sporting events. Family traditions were especially dear to her. Christmas Eve was always spent attending Mass, followed by a festive evening at Eleanor’s home filled with dinner, laughter, and gift-giving. What mattered most to Eleanor was simply being with the people she loved.

In her quiet moments, Eleanor found peace in walking around Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield and the simple joy of reading. A woman of deep faith, Eleanor was a devoted parishioner of St. Clare Church in Staten Island and later St. Joseph Church in Wakefield.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of Juan V. Dulay. She was the loving mother of Mary Butland and her husband Jeff of Wakefield; John Dulay and his wife Julie of Alameda, California; and Ryan Dulay and his wife Katie of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was the cherished grandmother of Paige, Addison, and Cameron Butland; Harrison and Russell Dulay; and Noah and Hudson Dulay. She was the sister of Loreto Bison, Zenaida Salomon, Ramon Salomon, Carlos Salomon, and Joselito Salomon, and the late Alberto Salomon and Cesar Salomon.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, on Friday, February 6, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
