Ellin LaBonte

Ellin (Hoyt) LaBonté passed away peacefully at age 78 on August 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a quick illness.

Born in Wakefield, MA in April of 1943, to the late Laurence and Mary (Dignan) Hoyt, Ellin was a woman of strength and deep kindness. She found joy in reading, baking, sewing, decorating her antique home, spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends from book club, Girl Scouts, and Lynnfield High Class of 1966.

She was the beloved wife of the late Robert LaBonté, and a devoted mother to her children, Margaret LaBonté and her partner Chad Parenteau; R. Michael LaBonté (predeceased); Sarah (LaBonté) Benson and her husband John Benson; and Matthew LaBonté and his wife Jennifer LaBonté. She was a cherished Nana to Molly Anderson and her father, Donnell; Anna and Grace Benson; and Ava, Lily, and Isabelle LaBonté. Ellin was the loving sister of William Hoyt, and was predeceased by her brothers David, John, Richard, Philip, and Steven Hoyt and sisters Mary Ann Fleming and Margaret Hoyt. She leaves behind beloved nieces and nephews and many lifelong loyal friends.

Ellin’s legacy is one of love, warmth, and the beauty of a life centered around family and friendship. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
