With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Francis Edward Rose of Middleton and Sarasota, formerly of Lynnfield, on April 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
The son of the late Francis and Josephine (Connery) Rose, Frank was born in 1946 in Salem, Massachusetts. He grew up in Revere and Lynn and attended St. Mary’s High School and Boston College. For 39 years, Frank owned and operated Southeastern Painting Company, Inc. in Everett, where he proudly worked with his son until his retirement in 2011.
Nothing mattered more to Frank than his family. After meeting the love of his life, Donna LeBlanc, in high school, they married in 1970 and raised four children together in Lynnfield, MA. Frank was a devoted husband and father who actively participated in all his children and grandchildren’s activities. You could always find Frank cheering in the stands at hockey, softball, baseball, volleyball, basketball, soccer and field hockey games, and he never missed a dance recital.
Frank was a proud graduate of Boston College Class of 1968 and was even prouder that all four of his children became BC grads as well. Frank was a BC football season ticket holder for many years and loved hosting tailgates with his family.
Frank was active in his community, serving as a member of the Lynnfield Finance Committee, the President of the Lynnfield Couple's Club, and coach of his son’s Little League baseball team.
He will be remembered as a passionate Boston sports fan, including being a longtime Celtics season ticket holder. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending long days at the pool with his family and friends in Sarasota.
Frank leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Donna; his daughter Kristine and her husband Thaddeus Nigborowicz, his daughter Kathleen and her husband John Ciampa, his son Kevin and his wife Heather Rose, and his daughter Karen and her husband William Varrichio. He leaves behind his "dozen roses", his twelve beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Katie, Mathew, Luke, Sean, Emma, Olivia, Brendan, Charlotte, Avery, Nicholas and Lilah. He also leaves a cousin, Deborah Rose of Maine.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield, on Friday, May 1 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut Street Lynnfield on Saturday, May 2 at 10:00 AM.
