Frank Bemis Lee

March 19th, 1960- November 14th, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Bemis Lee, age 65, who died on November 14, 2025, surrounded by his family after a brief illness. Born March 9th, 1960, he grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts, later making Wakefield his lifelong home after moving there in 1991.

A proud graduate of Malden Catholic High School, he went on to attend Creighton University and earned his degree in Anatomy and Applied Physiology from Boston University. He dedicated more than 30 years of service to the American Red Cross, where he worked as Manager of Clinical Services. His commitment to helping others defined not only his career but the way he lived his life.

He was predeceased by his mother, Maureen (Hayes) Lee.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary Lee, who he shared 46 years of love and partnership with. He was the beloved father of Victoria Roberts, married to Nick Roberts, and Alannah Face, married to Zachary Face.

He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and his cousin Penny Morse. Nothing brought him greater pride than his family. He was a supportive presence to his daughters’ friends.

Beyond his professional work, he made a lasting impact in his community as a dedicated coach for the Wakefield High School swim team. When he wasn’t spending time with his family, he also enjoyed kayaking, cooking and enjoying a cold pale ale.

A visitation for family and friends will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, MA on Thursday, November 20th from 4–7 PM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, MA. on November 21st at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mass General Genitourinary Cancer Research Fund, which can be selected under “specific program and area.”
