Frank Robert “Bob” Noyes, Jr. age 87, of Wakefield passed away peacefully in New Hampshire on February 26, 2026.
He was born on December 11, 1938 and was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Bickmore) Noyes.
Bob was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School. While there he was a standout athlete, participating in hockey, baseball and football. He was a longtime Wakefield resident and was also a longtime Wakefield hockey coach. After having raised the family in Wakefield, Bob, alongside his son, built a secondary home in New Hampshire. He and his wife began by splitting their time between their two homes before making New Hampshire their permanent residence in retirement. Bob was a self-employed contractor and took great pride in his trade. He enjoyed the simple things in life, coin collecting, playing checkers, and sitting in his chair relaxing.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dianne D. (Spear) Noyes, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Barry David Noyes and his wife Ann of Wakefield and Bette-Ann Atwood and her husband John of Shapleigh, Maine. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael Noyes, Bryan Noyes and his wife Marissa, Cody Atwood and his fiancée Veronica Cashman, and Hunter Atwood and his partner Bryn Dube. He was also the great grandfather of Indy Atwood.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, March 4 from 10am to 12pm followed by a Funeral Service at 12pm. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place. Memphis, TN 38105.
