Frank Xavier Oberle, age 82, of Everett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11 at the Lahey Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in Roxbury on June 19, 1943 and was the son of the late George Henry and Hildegard Paula (Sidow) Oberle.
Frank was raised in Roxbury and was a graduate of Revere High School. He had worked at the Revere Beach bowling alley for a time, ultimately meeting his wife. He later sought employment at Shawmut Bank and served in a security role until his retirement. He had also worked at Fidelity Investments and did some catering work on the side. Frank adored his family, especially his grandchildren whom all lovingly referred to him as “Papa Frank.”
He was the beloved husband of the late Joan A. (Burke) Oberle, who predeceased him in 2001. He was the loving father of Lisa M. Oberle and her fiancé Scott Peters of Middleton, NH and Suzanne C. Payne and her husband Michael of Reading. He was the adoring grandfather of Lauren, Hailey and Brady. He was the brother of Louise Read of Illinois and Geraldine Stangeby of California and the late George Oberle, Jr., Gerhard Oberle, Gertrude Van Gundy, Hildegard Druckamiller, and Adolph “Rudy” Oberle. He is also many nieces and nephews including Scott Yeo and Nicole Singleton of Everett.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday, March 17 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, March 16 from 4-7pm. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
