Frederick Gerry, Jr.

Frederick B . Gerry , Jr ., 95, a lifelong resident of Wakefield died on Tuesday, January 3 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Centre in Methuen.

Born in Stoneham on November 1, 1916 he was the son of the late Frederick B . and Josephine (Flynn) Gerry .

Mr. Gerry was a graduate of Wakefield High School. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the International Equipment Co. of Needham for 40 years before his retirement.

Mr. Gerry had attended the First Parish Congregational Church in Wakefield. He was a member of the Wakefield Choral Society for eight years and was also a campaign volunteer for Senator Richard Tisei.

Mr. Gerry was the husband of the late Sadie (Pitts) Gerry . He was the father of Karen Carchia of Windham, NH, Frederick Gerry III of NJ, Christopher Gerry of Groveland, Carol Gerry of Lynn, David Moore of Deerfield, NH and James Ratliffe of San Diego, CA. He was the brother of Lorraine Dolbeare of Kennebunkport, ME and Florida, Paul Gerry of Seattle, WA, Warren Gerry of Wakefield, Richard Gerry of Melrose and Robert Gerry of Chester, NH. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Monday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
