George Smith, Jr.

George R . Smith , Jr . of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on August 25 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers after a courageous battle with heart disease.

Born in Winchester, MA on May 7, 1952 he was the son of the late George R . and Mary F. Smith .

George is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ruth Ann (Conway) Smith; his son Joseph R . and his wife Kristen of Tewksbury, MA; his daughter Emily J. of Salisbury, MA; and his son Neil C. of Wakefield. He was the Papa to his beloved grandchildren: Evan, Tyler, Cameron, Brayden, Penelope, and Fiona. He is also survived by his large extended family, his Avid Technology family, and his cherished lifetime friends, Peter and Jo-Ann Cameron of Merrimac, MA. He was predeceased by his brother Paul C. Smith .

His Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, Sept 1 at 11am. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-7pm.
