Gerard J. Police

Gerard Police, age 58 of Wakefield, passed away on Wednesday July 1 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

He was born in Norwood Hospital on June 3, 1968 and was the son of Catherine “Kitty”(Luczki) Police and the late Alfred Police. He was raised in Easton and graduated from Oliver Ames High School in 1986.

Gerard was an incredibly loved son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He was known for being a friendly and caring family man, who loved nothing more than spending time with people. Throwing parties, cookouts, and family get-togethers was his favorite thing, and he loved looking back on fun memories by telling stories to everybody. He enjoyed taking a swim in his beloved pool, or doing just about anything outdoors—whether it be feeding birds, fishing, or lounging around on Gooserocks Beach in Kennebunkport, his favorite vacation spot. Cooking for others was another one of his specialties, with the Police family marinara sauce being an extremely loved recipe of his. He also loved reading—especially Stephen King books—along with writing, and making home movies with his friends and family. Anybody who knew Gerard knew that he was an incredibly loving man, with the most friendly personality and infectious smile. He will always be remembered through the stories he told, and the memories he made.

He was the beloved husband of Mary Grace Police. He was the loving father of Elizabeth Police of Wakefield. Gerard is also survived by his mother Catherine “Kitty” (Luczki) Police of Easton and his sister Maria Elena Police of Easton.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., on Monday July 6 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Tuesday July 7 at 10:00 a.m. The burial will follow directly after at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
