Issa Chankhour

Issa A . Chankhour , 68, of Wakefield died on Friday, June 7 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Syria on January 8, 1945 he was the son of the late Aziz and Jamielh (Boghos) Chankhour .

Mr. Chankhour was raised in Syria and had been a Wakefield resident since 1988. He was a trained mechanical engineer in Syria.

Mr. Chankhour was the husband of Zakieh (Haidar) Chankhour . He was the father of Aziz Chankhour of Wakefield, Jamielh Kessilyas of IN, Zafer Chankour and Maher Chankhour both of Wakefield and the late Jihad Chankhour . He was the brother of Ellia Atallah, Jannet Wanis, Frank and George Shankhour, Nadia Assali, Nejat Houshan, Georget Laow, Tony Chankhour , Ghassan Shankhour and the late John Shankhour. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will held at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade in Wakefield.
