James Amyouny

James “Jim” Amyouny, age 90, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died peacefully on Saturday, October 21. Born on April 29, 1933, Jim grew up in Boston, attended Boston University, and served in the US Army before settling into a long career as a sales executive in the confectionary packaging industry. He also remained actively involved in a family business right up until his passing. 

Affectionately known as Geez by family and friends, Jim was an avid sports fan and was a regular attendee at Wakefield sporting events. As the longtime director of Wakefield’s travel basketball program and a former board member of Little League and Babe Ruth, Jim was proudly inducted into the Wakefield High Athletic Hall of Fame as a contributor. Jim also enjoyed his many winters in Marco Island, FL and spending time with his family. 

Jim was the beloved husband of the late Theresa (Langone) Amyouny to whom he was married for 61 years. He was the loving father of Teri Kelly of Salem, NH, Joseph and his wife Sharon Amyouny of Wakefield, and Stephen and his wife Julie Amyouny of Boston. He was also survived by his 10 grandchildren, Robert Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Cameron Kelly, Katelyn Kelly, James Amyouny, Christopher Amyouny, David Amyouny, Paige Amyouny, Nicole Amyouny, and Brooke Amyouny, as well as 7 great-grandchildren, Eyan Kelly, Max Kelly, Aiden Kelly, Bailey Kelly, Parker Kelly, Marcus Kelly, and Lila Schroeder. 

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Wednesday October 25th from 4-7 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Wakefield Food Pantry, Attn: Laurel Mullen, Brightview Senior Living, 21 Crescent Street, Wakefield, MA 01880.
