Jean Jackson

Jean E . Jackson , age 87 of Stoneham, passed away on Monday November 28 at the Woburn Nursing Center.

She was born in Winchester on October 18, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Elizabeth (McFeeley) Lundblad. She was the beloved wife of the late William R Jackson Sr.

Jean grew up in Woburn and her first love was her horse. She was a member of 4-H and rode her horse in many parades, with her proudest moment riding in a parade with Gene Autry. She also loved tap dancing and often danced for the wounded soldiers.

First and foremost Jean was a mother of 6 children. We spent the first 2 weeks of the summer camping at White Lake NH and the end of the summer in Ocean Park ME. Her brothers, sister and sisters-in-laws often joined us. The more the merrier! Eventually she and Bill bought a camper and rented a seasonal site at Terrace in the Pines and camped there for many years. She was an avid hockey mom and traveled from New England to Canada for the games. She was the loudest fan in the building.

Jean was a long time member of Sweet Adelines and enjoyed traveling the US and Europe competing with the chorus. She and Bill spent many Sundays driving throughout New England with best friends June and Al. Jean loved winters in Florida and enjoyed reading and doing the crossword puzzles. She loved family gatherings and encouraged everyone to come down to the pool for cookouts and horseshoes.

She was the loving mother of Kathleen Sweeney of Stoneham, Cynthia Back and her late husband Peter of Pepperell, the late Robert Jackson and his wife Sarah of Stoneham, the late Edward Jackson and his late wife Jean , William Jackson Jr. of Billerica, and Donald Jackson and his wife Lorraine of West Newbury. Jean has 18 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She was the sister of Dorothy Lanigan of Merrimack, NH, and the late James, Robert and Peter Lundblad. She also leaves behind many sisters and brothers in laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St. Stoneham on Wednesday December 7 from 4-7pm. Her Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday November 8 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
