Joan Connor Tine, age 94, of Melrose, passed away on October 12, 2025 at The Residences at Pearl Street.

She was born in Troy, NY on April 21, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Murphy) Connor.

Joan was a standout high school field hockey player and also excelled in archery and was an avid golfer. She had a gift for bringing beauty into every space- from the stunning floral centerpieces she arranged, to the gardens she so lovingly tended. Joan’s laughter and playful spirit brightened every day; and her artistic talent touched everyone who knew her.

Joan was the beloved wife of the late Peter G. Tine. She was the loving mother of Nancy T. Shaer of Melrose. She was the sister of Robert Connor, Jack Connor, Patricia Prisk, and the late Harold and Peter Connor and Anne Passiagno. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery, North Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, October 21 at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.

Joan will deeply missed, but her joy and creativity will continue to bloom in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association MA/NH Chapter, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
