John McGowan

John G . McGowan , 88, of Lynnfield, died on Thursday, December 2 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Cambridge on May 9, 1922 he was the son of the late John and Sarah (Fitzgerald) McGowan .

Mr. McGowan was raised in Cambridge and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He had worked as a machinist before his retirement.

Mr. McGowan was the beloved husband of Clara M. (Cinquino) McGowan . He was the brother of James McGowan of FL, Leo McGowan of Wareham, Loretta Herman of Medford and the late Robert and Ruth McGowan . He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Grove & Salem Sts., Lynnfield at 10 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
