 John Allen Moores

January 28, 1953 – May 5, 2024

John passed away at the age of 71 at his lifelong home in Stoneham MA., surrounded by family on May 5, 2024, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Congestive Heart Failure.

John was born on January 28,1953 in Everett MA.  He was the son of the late Frank R. and E Dorothy (LeGrow) Moores, Brother to the late Donald Wayne Moores and Father of a late son, Shawn Michael Moores. 

John was raised in Stoneham MA. and graduated from Stoneham High School in 1971. John worked at John Hancock in Boston MA. for 35 years in the pensions department where he made many lifelong friendships. 

In summer of 1975 John married the love of his life Sandra Platt.   Together they enjoyed 49 wonderful years together.  Together had three children, Shawn, Eric, and Erin. John was a loving and devoted husband and father who took great pride in his children’s accomplishments. 

A man of few words but was always up for a gathering with family and friends at his home that he took great pleasure in caring for, especially his lawn.

John is survived by his wife Sandra (Platt) Moores, one Son Eric John Moores with his wife Nadia Laroussi of Raymond NH., one daughter Erin Leigh Moores of Stoneham MA., one granddaughter Samantha Noelle Moores of Georgetown MA., along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
