John P. "Jack" Molloy, age 70, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at his residence on May 20, 2026. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late John and Madeline (Conti) Molloy.
A proud native of Dorchester, Jack cherished his Irish and Italian heritage and was deeply devoted to his family. He dedicated his entire career to the security field, spending many years working with ADT. Jack enjoyed tending to his yard and taking his beloved grand dogs, Bamboo and Diesel, for walks. He also took pleasure in playing corn hole and was an enthusiastic Boston sports fan, with a unique fair-weather fondness for the Red Sox. Since 1994, he had called Wakefield home, where he and his wife raised their daughters and they also shared treasured family moments at Sebego Lake in Maine.
Jack is lovingly remembered as the devoted husband of Susan M. (Torpey) Molloy, with whom he celebrated 33 years of marriage. He was a caring father to Melissa Molloy and Makenzi Molloy, both of Wakefield. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara Doherty and her late husband Joseph of Billerica, Mary Draper and her partner Tricia Farrell of Florida, Edward Molloy and his wife Gail of Florida, Richard Molloy and his wife Janell of Texas, and his sister-in-law Donna Torpey. He was preceded in death by his siblings Elaine Keenan, Agnes MacDonald, and Joseph Molloy. Jack is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass to honor Jack’s life will be held at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield, on Saturday, May 23, at 10 a.m. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, on Friday, May 22, from 3 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
