John Staffier III , age 62, of Pepperell MA, passed away in his home on October 5, 2021. He leaves behind many people who loved him, most especially his sister Phyllis Staffier of Clinton MA; his sister Helene O'Brien of Cambridge MA; his nephew Timothy O'Brien of Cambridge MA; his niece Tess O'Brien of Oakland CA, her husband Jack Holzman, and their son Ezra; his niece Bridget O'Brien of Cambridge MA; his father John Staffier , Jr. of Westborough MA; and his step-brothers Anthony Staffier of Worcester MA and Matthew Staffier of Westborough MA.
In spite of many obstacles, including the amputation of his leg, John ran his own successful landscaping business for decades and was known as a conscientious, hard worker who genuinely cared about his clients.
John most loved being outdoors - fishing, hunting, motorcycling, snowmobiling - especially with his dogs, who were like family to him. In addition to his beloved Rottweilers, he rescued many a dog deemed "unsavable," giving them love and a happy home. His nieces and nephew still call Boo-Boo, the rescued dog John brought to them, their greatest gift.
John will be buried at Puritan Lawn Cemetery, Peabody MA, in a private ceremony. Friends and family will gather to celebrate John's life at a future date (to be announced).
