Joseph Bolino, age 84, of Lynnfield, formerly of Lynn, the beloved husband of Helen Clancy Bolino, died peacefully at home on July 30th surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was born and raised in Lynn and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bolino. Joe graduated from St. Mary's High School of Lynn and he continued his education with a B.A from Merrimack College and a Master's degree from Boston University in the School of Social Work.
Joe began his career in public service as a social worker for the Department of Public Welfare in Lynn, the city he loved. From there, he was director of the regional office of Social Service, school counselor at Melrose Public Schools and finally retiring from the Lynn Public Schools. Joe dedicated more than 40 years in service to others.
He was a man of deep faith and a member of Holy Family Church of Lynn, the organist of St Joseph in Lynn at one time, and finally a communicant of St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody.
Joe's greatest love was his family. He was married to his loving wife Helen for 50 years. He is survived by his two adoring children; Joanne Esposito and her husband Micah, and his son Joseph and his partner Sarah Conway. He worshipped his three beautiful grandchildren; Emma, Jack, and Benjamin Esposito. Nothing gave him more pleasure than sharing time with his family. Joe was the brother of Ida Bolino Pitzi of Lynnfield and predeceased by his sisters Gloria Walker and Nathalie Bolino and his brother Richard Bolino. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday, August 5 from 4-7pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell Street, West Peabody on Wednesday, August 6 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Lynn.
