Joseph R. Giunta, of Northborough formerly of Wakefield, died Tuesday, January 3 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Northborough.
Born in Wakefield on April 1, 1924 he was the son of the late Amedeo and Concettina (Serrentino) Giunta.
Joseph was a graduate of Wakefield High School and Bunker Hill Community College. He had served in the Navy during WWII and had worked as a sales expeditor for Stone and Webster. He was a member of the Lexington Bicentennial Band where he played the saxophone and clarinet.
Mr. Giunta was the father of Mark Giunta of Bolton, Wendy Richard of Brooklyn, NY, Judy Orsborn of Broomfield, CO, J. Richard Giunta of GA and Liane Giunta of Lynn. He was the brother of the late Emma Lawrence and Mary Desrosier. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
