Josephine Brickley

Josephine M. Brickley, of Saugus and a former longtime resident of Wakefield died Thursday April 11, at Chestnut Woods Rehabilitation of Saugus at the age of 101 years old. 

Born in Somerville September 11, 1922 she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Mary C. (Magliozzi) Antetomaso.

Josephine was a cashier for many years at First National Grocery Store in Wakefield. She was a prolific knitter, usually while watching sports on tv. All children got knit hats and mittens. Older kids got knit sweaters or knit afghans. Had many friends locally and from her snowbird escapes to Florida. 

Josephine was the beloved wife of the late Joseph F. Brickley. She was the loving mother of Stephen and Kathy Brickley of Saugus and William Brickley and Terry Gesel of Delaware. Sister of the late Arthur and Anthony Antetomaso, Marie Cahill, and Alice DellArciprete. Josephine is also survived by her 3 grandchildren, Brian Brickley and his wife Meredith of Acton, Jennifer Zerfas and her husband Jason of Reading, and Chris Brickley of New York City.  Also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Audrey Brickley, Daisy Zerfas, Troy Zerfas, Finn Brickley and Vivien Brickley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

 Her funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday April 16,  at noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 11 a.m. to noon. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery Wakefield.
