Kenneth W. Chisholm, age 81, a longtime resident of Wakefield, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 10th following a lengthy illness.
Born in Malden on March 18th, 1945, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Florence (Buswell) Chisholm.
He is survived by his devoted wife Catherine, and his daughters Deborah, of Malden, and Carmel, of Newburyport.
Ken was raised and educated in Revere and was a graduate of Revere High School, Class of 1963, where he played in the I.C. Reveries and later the 27th Lancers drum & bugle corps. Ken honorably served active duty as Radioman in the US Navy and later continued with the Naval Reserve while working and training as an architectural draftsman before serving a 33 year-long career with the US Postal Service in Wakefield, where he retired from in 2012.
He was an avid history buff and was passionate about architecture, nature, geography, and mass transit.
He brought his family joy with his humor, stories, and endless acts of loving service. He will be immeasurably missed.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Sunday, May 17th, 2026 from 1pm to 4pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Lazarus Center for Healing Shrine, 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield on Monday May 18th, 2026 at 10am. Burial will follow at the Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
