Linda C. Manning

Linda Collins Manning, 75, passed away on the 22nd of September at the Sawtelle Hospice House in Reading surrounded by her family. She passed away peacefully after battling ovarian cancer for two years.

She was the daughter of the late Martin V. and Geneva (Melanson) Collins. Linda was raised in Lynn, and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, and North Shore Community College. She began her career working with teens at risk, but eventually found her passion of helping others in positions both in government and law. She worked with Lieutenant Governor, Thomas O’Neill, both at the Massachusetts State House and in Washington DC. Linda later worked in real estate law at Hinkley, Allen & Snyder until her retirement.

Linda was the beloved wife of the late Daniel F. Manning. She was the loving mother of Catherine M. Manning. She was the sister of Donna Anderson and her husband Richard. She was “Auntie Leedles” to their three children; Brian(Christina), Heather (Jason Kuberski) and Marisa; Great Auntie Leedles to Quinlan, Arthur, Oliver and Annika Anderson; and Elise, Joshua, and Andrew Kuberski.

Linda loved nothing more than sitting on the deck in York, Maine during the summer months surrounded by her friends and family. She will be remembered for her generous, thoughtful nature and devotion to family, especially to her loving daughter, Catherine.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday, October 5th from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 17 Grove St., Lynnfield on Monday October 5 following the visitation at 11:30 a.m.
