Louis Picardi, Jr.

Louis Picardi Jr., 85, of Wakefield died Thursday, May 21 at the Wilmington Health Care Center.

Born in Malden on May 12, 1924 he was the son of the late Louis and Philomena (Marotta) Picardi.

Mr. Picardi was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1942 and Boston College, Class of 1951. He was a World War II Marine Veteran. Mr. Picardi was a retired teacher for the Everett Public Schools. He was a member of St. Florence Parish in Wakefield, the Wakefield Lodge of Elks, the Wakefield Retired Men's Club and the Arlington Men's Club and the Holy Name Society of St, Florence Parish. Mr. Picardi was an avid sports fan.

Mr. Picardi is survived by his wife Alvira (Renda) Picardi, his three children; Paula Bugli & her husband Stephen of North Reading, Steve Picardi & his wife Susan of Methuen and Judith Picardi of Brazil, his four brothers; William Picardi of Kansas City, MO, Ralph Picardi of Arlington, John Picardi of Malden and Orlando Picardi of Stoneham and his sister Catherine Leach of Bourne. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren; Eric and Gregory Bugli, Amanda, Michael, Matthew and Daniela Picardi. Mr. Picardi was predeceased by his son Daniel Picardi and his brother Richard Picardi.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave, Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the Wilmington Health Care Center, 750 Woburn St, Wilmington, MA 01887.
