Madeline D. Civitareale, age 91, of Wakefield, formerly of Saugus and Malden, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on December 16 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.
She was born in Malden on January 9, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Annunziata (DiTucci) Pallotta.
Madeline was a graduate of Girls Trade High School of Boston. She was a lifetime member of Dante Alighieri Society of Cambridge. She had been a retired bookkeeper and secretary for Reale Construction Company of Malden. Madeline loved reading, cooking, and dancing. Above all she enjoyed time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late Americo Civitareale. She was the loving mother of Lisa Mastrocola and her husband Joseph of Peabody, Nancy Riley and her husband Steven of Wakefield, and the late Maria Civitareale. She was the sister of Sylvia Curley of Melrose and the late Anthony Pallotta. She is survived by her eight grandchildren; William Walsh, Jaclyn Walsh, Stephanie Walsh and her husband Daniel, Amanda Messina and her husband David, Steven Riley Jr., Joseph Mastrocola and his wife Kasey, Jenna Mastrocola and her wife Erika, and Anthony Mastrocola and his wife Kathryn. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday, December 19 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4-7pm. Interment, Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
