Reading, formerly of Wakefield

Marcia A. Reed

Marcia A. Reed, 70, of Reading, a former resident of Wakefield, died Sunday, June 21, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington. Born in Melrose on July 31, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruth (Dulong) Henderson. She was predeceased by her brother, Richard Henderson III, and her nephew, Richard Henderson IV. Marcia was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1973. She worked as an accountant at multiple locations over the years.

Marcia was the beloved wife of Philip Reed of Reading. She was the loving mother of Phillip Reed II of Reading; Gregory Reed and Jayne Martin of Wakefield; and Michael Reed and Angela Sciarappa, along with their daughter Keiley Breton of Leland, NC. She was also the adoring Mimi to her granddaughters, Caitlyn Reed of Brooklyn, NY, and Makenzy Reed of Reading.

When her children were young, Marcia was happily involved in all their activities. She loved camping with family and friends and spending time at their camp in Lyman, ME. Over the years, Marcia and Phil enjoyed traveling and taking multiple cruises with good friends. Marcia loved playing games. When her kids were younger, she kicked butt at Super Mario Bros.—no one could beat her. Later, she joined Facebook just to play Words With Friends.

Marcia dearly loved her family and will be sorely missed. She loved dragonflies, and we hope she will be remembered when you see one fly by.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, MA, on Friday, June 26, at 12:00 noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at Wood End Cemetery in Reading.
