Margaret M. “Marge” Leppo, age 76, of Wakefield passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully in her sleep at her home on September 21, 2025. She was born in Revere on April 21, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Stephen and Ellen (Cotter) Duggan.
Marge grew up in Revere and attended Immaculate Conception High School before continuing her education at the Forsyth School for Dentistry, where she earned her degree in dental hygiene. Dedicated both to her profession and her community, she was actively involved in the Wakefield Public Schools, serving as a past president of the PTO and as a member of various committees.
She cherished summers at her beloved lake house in Meredith, NH—affectionately known as Marge’s Camp—and spent many winters in Aruba with her husband, where they welcomed family and friends with warmth and hospitality. She also contributed to her parish community as a member of the former St. Florence Church. Marge was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching games every day. She also relished gaming at casinos, loved being surrounded by people, and was known as a wonderful listener, the life of the party, and a dear friend to many.
Marge was the beloved wife of Alan H. Leppo. She was the loving mother of Stephen J. Leppo of Wakefield, Amy L. Eckstein and her husband Len of Colorado, and Gregg M. Leppo and his wife Marissa of Burlington. She was the proud grandmother of Hazel and Alice Leppo and Arlo Eckstein. She was also the daughter-in-law of the late Hazel Goldstein, the sister-in-law of the late Roberta Keimach and her late husband Gerald, and is survived by many extended family members and cherished friends.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Lazarus Center for Healing Shrine (St. Florence Church), 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Friday, September 26 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, September 25 from 4-7pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
