Marie Arsenault

Marie Arsenault, age 92 of North Andover and formerly of Saugus died Saturday January 28, 2023 in Reading, MA. She was born in Boston, MA on November 26, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Louis and Louise (Politano) DelloRusso. She was a graduate of Medford High School, class of 1948 and later made her home in Saugus for many years. She retired from the General Electric Corporation, River Works Plant in Lynn where she was an Executive Secretary.

Having been born and raised during the Great Depression, which was immediately followed by World War II, Marie would always remark about how fortunate she was to be able to spend her retirement years between Ogunquit, Maine and Naples, Florida, despite such a challenging start.  She enjoyed thirty years of friendship at Crystal Lake in Florida and in her later years made great friends at Sutton Pond in North Andover.  She loved to travel and kept detailed journals about her many adventures.

Her favorite Frank Sinatra lyrics were “I did it my way” and one of her husband Al’s favorite sayings was “Your Mother is not happy and she doesn’t suffer in silence.” If you knew Marie, you will recognize that she lived her life as a fierce advocate for her family and was not shy about sharing her thoughts!

Marie was the beloved wife of the late Alfred J. Arsenault, with whom she shared 65 years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Donna M. Connaughton and her husband Mark of Watertown, MA, David S. and his wife Noriko of Springfield, GA, Steven and his wife Anna of Newbury, MA and the late Mark and Deborah. She was the sister of William DelloRusso, Diane Kinnally and the late John and Louis DelloRusso. She was the proud grandmother to her seven grandchildren; Mindi, Gena, Mark, Debbie, Michael, Brian and Isabella.  She was the cherished grandmother to her many great-grandchildren and Auntie Marie to many loving nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank The Residence at Pearl Street in Reading and The Pratt Diagnostic Center at Tufts for their care and compassion.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery, 164 Winter Street, Saugus on Friday, February 3rd at 11:00 am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Thursday, February 2nd from 4-7pm.
