Marie Banks

Marie R. Banks, age 62 of Wakefield and formerly of Somerville died at her home surrounded by her family on April 21 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Somerville on February 6, 1960 and was the daughter of Albert F. and Marie L. (Roucher) Banda. She was raised in Somerville and had been a Wakefield resident for the past ten years. Marie loved spending time with her family. She loved traveling with her "Somerville crew." She was a regular at the Encore casino and loved vacationing and going to the beach.

Marie was the beloved wife of Michael D. Banks, her childhood sweetheart of 45 years. She was the loving mother of Dawn M. Banks and partner Kevin Lewis, Jennifer A. Flewelling and husband Jad, Christine Banks and husband Robert Tocco, Michael A. Banks and partner Erica Mott Burrill and Chelsie Banks. She was the sister of Bob Banda. She was also the loving grandmother of Heather Tuttle, Kevin Lewis, Laila McFadden and Bianca Tocco-Banks.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Joanne Raffaele, Martha Allen, and Marie's cousin, Billy Sirois for the compassion and care for Marie over these tough years.

Her Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday April 28 at 12pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10am-12pm.
