Marie A. Dalton

Marie A. Dalton, 95 of East Boston died peacefully on Saturday, June 28 at the Winchester Nursing Center.

Born in East Boston, April 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmella (Frongilo) Marrocco. 

Marie was raised in East Boston and later moved to Saugus. She was a graduate of East Boston High School. She raised three children, worked as a beautician in Brookline, telephone operator where she met her lifelong friends and became an infant day care teacher working for DSS in East Boston. ‘MA’ as she was known by everyone in her life, was always finding the good in people and everything she said became words of wisdom with some sort of lesson.

Marie was the beloved wife of the late James Dalton. She was the loving mother of Pat Cangiano and his wife Jean of North Reading, the late Janet O’Leary and husband Paul O’Leary and Denise Herland and her husband John of Wakefield. She is survived by her grandchildren Hope Herland of Wakefield; Ashlie Cangiano of Quincy; Jeremy Cangiano of North Reading; Michele Reid and husband Justin of North Reading; Paul Michael Donatelli of North Reading; Nicole Coviello and husband Jared of North Reading; Jennifer Demers and husband Greg of Boxford; and PJ O’Leary and wife Lyndsay of SC. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Isabella, Wesley, Mia, Gabriella, Lorenzo, Elle, Isla and Bronwynn; and nieces, nephews and friends.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, July 2, at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Interment following at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
