Mario Marzino

Mario Marzino, age 78 of Stoneham, passed away on Sunday August 16.

He was born in 1948 to Albert and Josephine (Vita) Marzino.

Mario lived in the North End of Boston for a short while, and later in Medford and then Stoneham. He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School, Class of 1966. He furthered his education at Mass Bay Community College, and was a graduate of Boston State College, Class of 1971.

He worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Division of Employment and Training as a supervisor for 35 years. He garnered many awards from various Governors of our state due to the outstanding work he did.

Mario loved his family with his whole heart and soul and was loved back just as much. You could always count on him to be there for you whenever needed. There is not one person that could ever say a bad word about him. He was soft-spoken, but what he had to say was always deeply respected. He was a true gentleman. He was the most loving son, sibling, cousin, nephew, and especially husband to his wife Janet.

He loved going on vacations with Jan to Florida, Cape Cod, Ogunquit, ME., Newport, RI., and especially North Conway, NH. They also took other memorable trips to Italy, France, Switzerland, and Sicily.

He will be so deeply missed for that warm smile of his, and those big dark brown eyes to look into.

He is survived by his beloved wife Janet, whom he was married to for 50 years, together for 59 years. His siblings Eileen Zwicker of North Reading, Frederick Marzino of Reading, and Donna (and partner Christopher) Riordan of Epping, NH. His Nieces Audra (Peter) Maso, and Tracy (David) Dino. His nephew James (and partner Alyssa) Riordan. And his great niece Faith Gargano, and great nephews Dillon Gargano, David and Christian Dion, and many loving cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Josephine (Vita) Marzino, and his sister MaryAnn Pollinger.
