Mary A. Adragna, age 93, a lifelong resident of Wakefield, passed away after a brief period of failing health on July 10, 2025 at the Life Care Center in Stoneham.
She was born in Wakefield on December 1, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Accolla) Ventura.
Mrs. Adragna was born and raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1949. She went to work at Copley Shoe in Wakefield where she met the love of her life, Joseph Guy Adragna. The two married, settled in Wakefield and began their family, raising their two boys on the same street where she was raised. Mrs. Adragna was a parishioner of St. Florence Church. She was an excellent cook, everything was always homemade. Though in later years, she found small jobs to fill her days, her primary role and reason for joy was her family. She loved being a homemaker and care giver to her children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Adragna was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Guy Adragna. She was the loving mother of John Adragna of Wakefield and Stephen Adragna and his wife Lisa of Wakefield. She was the adoring grandmother of Gianna Adragna, Nicholas Adragna and his wife Gabrielle, Kristiana Silvera and her husband Rob, and John Adragna. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Viviana Silvera; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Ray Ventura and his wife Helen.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, July 16 at 11:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield prior to the service from 9-11am. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
