Mary A. Dubé, 95, a long-time Wakefield resident passed away at Woodbriar of Wilmington on Thursday, April 9th. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, Mrs. Dubé was raised in Boston, graduating from Mission Hill High School. She moved to Wakefield in 1949 to raise her family, and became a communicant of St. Joseph Church. She sewed clothes for Vogue Dolls at home, pri or to returning to the work force at American Mutual Insurance Co. and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She supported the American Red Cross, earning her 50 Gallon Pin, donated knit items to the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital Gift Shop, and enjoyed baking (especially hermits to anyone who knew her well). She resided at Woodbriar Nursing home for several years where she became part of another wonderful "family" and will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Dubé was the wife of the late Raymond L. Dubé. She was the mother of David L. Dubé and his wife, Marie, of Tewksbury, Christine M. O'Toole and her husband, William, Raymond G. Dubé, Denise A. Baker and her husband, Michael, all of Wakefield, and Philip A. Dubé of Reading. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home. 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, on Wednesday, at 9AM followed by a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Red Cross National Headquarters, 2025 E Street, NW, Washington, DC 20006 or American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
