Mary Nee

Mary A. Nee of Wakefield died on Tuesday, March 13 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in White Plains, NY on March 19, 1941 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Quinlan) Purcell.

Mary was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Nazareth Academy, Class of 1958. She was a former Administrative Assistant for Donovan Associates in Wakefield and had also worked at the former American Mutual Insurance Co. in Wakefield. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading and traveling to Ireland.

Mary was the wife of the late Joseph Nee Jr. She was the mother of Kelly Bourne and her husband David of Saugus, and Joseph Nee III and his girlfriend Nancyne Tkachuk of Wilmington. She was the sister of Thomas Purcell Jr. of Wakefield, and Helen Sheeran of Woburn. She is also survived by her grandchildren; David, Brian, Jillian, Danny, and Emma.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 11 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
